Facilities

The location of Fortwilliam Golf Club gives members and visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy convivial dining and bar facilities in a setting which is scenically second to none. From the picture windows of our lounge areas, located on the first floor, we boast a sweep of panoramic views that stretch from the Cave Hill and Napoleon’s Nose across the golf course to the entire span of Belfast Lough, encompassing the full sweep of the Co. Down coastline. On better days the Scottish coast is clearly visible.

Our Main Bar, Lounge and Dining Room are open to all members, green fee payers and members’ guests. For casual dining a comprehensive snack menu is available, while our excellent a la carte menu offers superb choice and quality to satisfy the most discerning tastes. Both services are complemented by an extensive range of wines and beverages.

We also boast a cosy Members’ Bar with views of the Cave Hill and the eighteenth green.

The Shaftesbury Room is an attractive alternative for Corporate events and visiting Societies, providing a private area on the second floor of the Clubhouse. This room comfortably accommodates around 40 people. There is a dedicated bar with a wide range of beverages available. There is also an extensive patio area accessible only from the Shaftesbury Room.

Members can book the Shaftesbury for private functions.

A modern lift in the ground floor reception area provides convenient access to the first and second floors. Beside the lift is the Reception and Office. The Snooker room, open to members and members’ guests is also in this area. Directly opposite the main entrance is the Ladies’ locker room, while to the right are the Gent’s and Junior locker rooms. Access to these areas is also available from beside the Professional’s Shop at the rear of the building.

Our professional, Ricky Duckett, offers a wide range of equipment, clothing, buggy and trolley hire and teaching services. The shop is open to the public.
